As many of our clients know when we’re not working on our clients projects – we are homeschooling our two kids ages 7 and 12. We’re on our 6th year! Wow. A worthy reason for not updating this blog 24/7 ….. 😉 Once a week I take them to a co-op where they do all kinds of amazing enrichment classes – PE, theatre, sign language, art, drawing, knitting, creative lettering, book clubs, duct tape creations, Glee, dance….. whatever you can image – hundreds of kids are exploring their interests in huge ways. My volunteer role is Yearbook Director...

Ironman tattoo design

Thought it would be fun to share some unique projects that I’ve worked on that are not photography related!  Plus triathlons in general have been on my mind as a few of my “mom friends” from our co-op have bravely trained for and succeeded in their first triathlon this weekend!! Perhaps an Ironman marathon will be in their future one day! One such design request was to design an Ironman tattoo for one of my clients who is of course – an amazing Photographer/Ironman himself.  To be fair, he did get a tattoo in the end after much waffling….. but I have NOT seen...

Happy Mother’s Day!

Busy mom……. we understand you! As business-running, photographer, designer, homeschooling parents ourselves – we know what your days are like.  Over the last decade we’ve watched many of our photographer clients marry, have their first babies, watch children graduate, leave for college….. and have cried with you on the phone through the loss of parents, divorce…..  Real life is sure bittersweet – super highs and super lows. Designing your albums, cards, storyboards, promotional material, processing and retouching your sessions ……....

The cobbler’s kids have no shoes – it has been true until this year at our house.  I’ve been so busy designing albums for clients to design one for our own family. Designing albums for families is one of my most favorite things to do and I’m so excited that we’ve been blessed by Finao to have one to enjoy for years to come. I have already wrote an extensive review all about the Finao nextONE book if you’re interested in learning about the new hybrid album that burst into the market officially this year. This post is to share the inside of the book for fun...

HappyFish School – personal blog

We have a not-so-secret secret …. we have very recently launched a personal blog called “HAPPYFISH SCHOOL” that follows our adventures as a creative industry/business running family who homeschool our kids … and trying to make healthier choices on the side. Here’s the honest truth of why I’ve created this blog ….. it is by the encouragement of our beloved photographer clients and friends that (I speak for myself here) …. got the guts to dive off into this unknown territory in the first place.  You know who you are – and I’m deeply...
